We started out this week visiting Grace Baptist Church in Batavia, NY. Batavia is just down the road from Albion, and Dad knows the pastors there at Grace pretty well. We also found out that there were several people there who knew my family from back when my Grandparents lived up in this area. That was fun to meet them and make connections and acquaintances with them.
Sunday morning we were in Pastor Hurlbut’s Sunday School class. He is preparing a group to head over to Europe on a short-term Missions trip to visit missionaries their church supports. This was very exciting to sit in on, and see their preparations. We are huge supporters of the local church involving themselves in the lives of their missionaries, so it was good to see them planning this trip.
We had the opportunity to present our ministry in the evening service, then spend some time chatting with many of the families from the church. They were a very friendly church and we had a good time getting to know them.
Later in the week, on Wednesday, Victory Baptist Church here in Albion hosted the Ambassador Music Group, a children’s music group from South Korea. Emily and I hosted four for of the children and an adult at the house of another couple in the church who was out of town. We had a great time with them. It was a blessing because Emily and I had the group translator with us. There were a couple who could speak a little English, but none as well as Mr. Park. So it was pretty nice to have him with us. We suspect they must all be on Korean time, because they were up till all hours of the night. We heard that one group (not at our house, thankfully) was up until after 2:30 in the morning. But it was fun to have them.
Our latest prayer letter is up. If you haven’t read it yet, you can find it on our Prayer Letter page. Check it out and keep informed.
