On September 17th, we had the privilege of being at Faith Baptist Church of North Chili, NY. North Chili is fairly close to Albion, and this is a church that Emily’s youth group used to get together with for teen activities. It was fun to see some familiar faces again. The church has a nice array of ages, which is always encouraging to see. There were quite a few teenagers (who had just gotten back from a canoeing trip, though you couldn’t tell by their energy level) and a few young married couples. A family from the church with five young boys invited us to their home in the afternoon between services. After growing up in families of 7, it was a blast to be in that environment again. We learned some new jokes and had some good conversations. We are thankful for Pastor Harriman and the folks at Faith Baptist and the witness they are having in the Rochester area.
Bright and early on the 18th we hit the road for Hanover, PA to attend the PARBC conference. What a wonderful time of fellowship we had there with the pastors from PA and our friends who came from Grace Baptist Bible College. It was a wonderful time in the Word as Dr. Layton Talbert (BJU seminary) brought forth several messages on prayer. The messages were both refreshing and challenging. The conference was held at one of our supporting churches, Hope Baptist, and it was great to reconnect with many of the folks from the church.
