Deputation – Week 103

After our meeting at Swissvale Baptist, we drove back home to pick up our van then drove back down to Kittanning, PA on the 5th and spent the week visiting a supporting church there, Union Baptist. That Saturday Pastor and Mrs. Hill and we hosted a pastor’s fellowship for some of the pastors in the area. Several pastors and their wives came and we all had a great time of food and fellowship. A new pastor in the area even came and got to meet other pastors in his area, which was really neat!

On the 9th we had the opportunity to be with Middletown Baptist Church for a second time. It was encouraging to see the folks there again and to be able to spend time with Pastor Kistler during the week. Middletown Road has commissioned one of their families, Dennis and Valerie Rew, to plant a church in another area of Pittsburgh. The Rews had us over for dinner one evening and we got to hear how things are going there and how they are doing. It was cool to see how many good contacts they have already made in their area and how God is working in those who have been coming out to their Bible study!

Wednesday night we had the privilege of joining the folks at Union Baptist for prayer meeting and updating them on what we’ve been doing and how deputation is going. We were encouraged by those who came out on such a cold evening!

When we’re in town we work with the youth group at Victory. On Friday night we had the teen boys over for a game night. With lots of pizza, desserts, board games, Wii, and XBox, the boys had a blast! This coming week we anticipate having the girls over. We’d appreciate your prayers as we strive to build deeper relationships with these kids and point them to Christ.
