This past Sunday we were blessed to be at First Baptist Church in New Berlin, NY! Our friend Dan Baltich accepted the pastorate there last summer and as we mentioned in our last post, Dan and Julie opened up their home to us for a week and a half while we were in the area. It has encouraged our hearts so much to hear how First Baptist has taken such good care of their pastor and his family. Pastors are such special people and as Christ’s undershepherds should be respected and cared for by their flocks, so it has been very good to see that happening in New Berlin. It has been such a privilege for us to get to know many pastors during our time on deputation and, we pray, to be an encouragement to them as they are to us.
At the Empire State Fellowship spring conference on Monday and Tuesday, we were able to see many of our NY pastor friends and their wives. The conference was on church planting, which is of course close to our hearts as church planting missionaries.
Upon arriving home, we discovered some exciting news: we are now at 80% of our needed support! Just a little ways to go before we can start the application process for our visas! We are praising the Lord for His faithful provision.
As you think of us, we would appreciate your prayers for an upcoming trip in a couple weeks. We will be gone for over a month to New England (twice), North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and central New York. In two weeks we will be speaking to a group of teens during an all-nighter at one of our supporting churches; please pray for their hearts and our preparation for that.
