The last couple of weeks have been quite eventful for us as we have been preparing to apply for our Brazilian visas. We couldn’t do anything until we had received Chloe’s Social Security card. With that in hand, we were able to apply for her passport last week. We will hopefully be receiving that in the next week or so.
Meanwhile we have been gathering a lot of documents we need to actually submit our visa application. We need Chloe’s passport, but we also need a lot of other documents gathered together and “legalized” by the Brazilian government. This week we have been working on gathering those documents and applying for their legalization. We had a very encouraging conversation with our Field Administrator yesterday, and our goal is still to arrive in Brazil in late January. Please pray with us to that end. Specifically, for that to happen, we hope to be driving to Washington D.C. to apply for the visas in person no later than the 19th of December. Please pray specifically that, if it’s the Lord’s will, all the documents will come together in a timely manner.
The last couple weeks have also been wonderful as we adjust to parenthood. Watching Chloe’s development over the past month has been fascinating. We are so thankful for the extra time we’ve had with her. On that note, yesterday was Chloe’s due date!
She is an adorable girl. She definitely gets her facial expressions from her mommy! Very expressive girl. Please continue to pray for our wisdom as we learn to parent her.
We will keep you all up to date as we continue to work through the visa process over the next couple of weeks. Thank you all again for your prayers.
