Oh the times they are a-changin’

Good morning, everyone! We here in the Southern Hemesphere have just changed our clocks to the “horário de verão,” or Summer Hours. That means we have “Sprung forward.” Our temperatures are finally getting a little bit warmer, and the days are quite a bit sunnier.

We have had a very busy few weeks here in São Paulo. We had missions conference a few weeks ago, followed by several other church events including a celebration yesterday of “Children’s Day.” Emily made a whole bunch of cupcakes for the kids at church, and (judging by all the yelling reverberating through the walls) there was plenty of other excitement planned for them as well. Our next few weeks will continue to be busy as we are getting into “moving mode.” Pretty much every weekend for the next month has activities going on with the church, and coupled with Brandon’s seminary class, Emily’s during-the-week preparations for weekend events, preparations for Sunday School lessons and sermons, and a little almost-2-year-old running around the house, life will not be slowing down for us.

Please be praying for oportunities we have with our youth group. It’s been a great couple of months we have been able to spend with them, and several of our young people are showing encouraging growth.

Please also be praying for the preparations for our move. We are beginning to make some solid plans, and need a lot of wisdom to make the best decisions. Moving across the country is never an easy task, no matter what country it is (except maybe Luxembourg…or the Vatican).

Finally, please be praying for our church here in São Paulo. It’s been a tough year for the church in several ways, and things seem to be finally settling down. Please pray for the peace of God to strengthen the church family, and pray for their courage in difficulty.

We are very thankful for you all. Please stay in touch with us, and let us know how we can be praying for you in these days.
