Belém, Pará! We have arrived safe and sound. We don’t have consistent internet yet, so our updates may be a little sporatic for a little while.
Brandon arrived safe and sound in Belém on Thursday night. Emily and Chloe flew in on Saturday night. None of us had any complications, for which we are very thankful. The truck with all of our things broke down around a third of the way into the trip, so we are still waiting for its arrival.
The weather here has been quite rainy since we arrived. Every day we have had long periods of rain, together with short periods of sun. This is normal for this time of year. It is the “rainy” season. Temperatures are a little bit cooler than during the “dry” season, with highs reaching the mid-80s. It has felt pretty comfortable.
We attended Igreja Batista Regular Boas Novas on Sunday. This is a church which was planted many, many years ago but has recently been having some serious struggles. We will work together with Pastor Rubens and his family to reestablish this church before beginning any new church plants.
We are hoping our moving truck will arrive today. Please pray with us that we will get our things soon, and begin to make the adjustments to our new home.
Thank you all again for your prayers for us during this transition. We appreciate it!
