Welcome to 2019! We praise the Lord for another year ahead of us, and the blessings of the year behind.
We have been in the States for 8 weeks now, and furlough has gone very well. It’s been a blessing to visit a number of our partner churches, hear what God has been doing in them, and share about what the same God has been doing in Brazil. Emily and I have both been encouraged by the Christmas celebrations we have seen since we’ve been Stateside. They are one of the cultural experiences we have missed since we’ve been in Brazil, as Brazilian Christmas celebrations are quite a bit different.
Back in Brazil my coworker has been working hard at getting our next academic year prepared. There has also been a lot of work done on our house, and it is nearing completion. Please be praying that our house will be completed in time, as the repairs have been slowed because of the rainy season in Brazil. Please also pray for our safety over the next couple weeks. We have a couple of long trips we will be taking.
Emily will be traveling back to Brazil in two weeks, on the 15th-16th. She will be joined by Chloe and her mother. I will be traveling back two weeks later, on the 29th-30th. Please pray that the baby waits to arrive until I get there. 🙂
On a personal note, we were thankful to be stateside recently as my grandma was diagnosed with cancer and subsequently passed away. We were able to travel to see her before she passed away. We were also able to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with Emily’s family, and Christmas with my family.
We thank you again for all your prayers.
